Are you ready for an exhilarating ride? Let me take you on a journey with Scoot! In this review, I’ll share my experience and give you a glimpse of what it’s like to hop on a Scoot flight and zip out for a holiday. Get ready for a thrilling ride!
Scoot was never on my list of airlines when I wanted to travel. However, this time round, the price of the flight from Singapore to Perth was simply too hard to resist.
Why did I not think of Scoot?

Scoot is a relatively new airline. It is a budget airline from Singapore Airlines. At the start of it, there were quite a lot of complaints among my friends. Flight delays and bad services were among some of the complaints. Also, there were unresponsive customer service lines. As such, whenever I travel, Scoot will not be the airline I go to.
However this time round, the reason we chose Scoot was because of price. For $ a ticket, it was among the cheapest flights during the March School holidays. The only gripe was the food options available and their price point.

I might be biased, but a set meal charging $12 did not look appealing to me, whether online or on the physical menu. Therefore we decided to order noodles instead. While it’s a little exorbitant at $6 for a cup of noodles, at least we knew the taste of the food wouldn’t fail us.

Since Scoot is a budget carrier, do not expect an Airbus 747. The seats were of a 3-3-3 permutations. As a petite Asian, I think I have sufficient legroom for the 4-5 hour flight. However, if you are a bigger size Caucasian, it might be a little cramp.

On the return flight, passengers next to us pack food for their kids. We didn’t see them being told off for bringing food on the plane. This was despite the rule that the plane does not allow outside food. I also saw other passengers who didn’t want to order the plane food eating their meals discreetly.

We also decided to give the hot meal a try because the kids were hungry. The verdict is not bad for their Mini Chicken Hamburger Rice except the price was high and the portion was pretty small.
Overall Verdict
The flight was surprisingly pleasant. They probably clean up their act after a few years, We are generally the family who are not very demanding for weird items. (True story). We once saw a passenger requesting a vegetarian meal when the carrier only offered chicken or beef on the plane. FYI, if you have a special diet, you can quest online before you board. However, the guy didn’t. Ok, I sidetracked.
If you are a passenger who just wants to travel from point A to point B on a budget, Scoot is a decent carrier to go to. No fanfare, no fancy stuff.
Will I still take it in the future?
Why not if it’s still this affordable? But of course, being a low-cost carrier, there are no frills to it. I will probably pack snacks for the kids and more entertainment to keep them occupied.
