Kids Play (1): Imaginia Playland

After taking turns to falling sick at home plus CNY preparation and celebration, I finally had the time to sit down to update the blog.

Bangkok Indoor Playground for toddler – Imagina Playland

We visited Imaginia Playland on our second day in Bangkok. Situated in Emporium Shopping Mall, one just need to take a BTS to Phrom Phong Station. The entire mall is fully sheltered from the station and there is another mall called the Emquartier at the side. For parents who are bored of Emporium, could also visit the other shopping mall.

Half of the mall is a large departmental store. Imaginia is located on the fifth floor, tucked in a corner of the children’s department. There are many signs above escalator directing you to the place so you do not have to worry about being lost.

Each basic entrance fee is only for 3 hours. The indoor playground is rather small, which is sufficient for the 3 hour play. Lockers are provided for free which is said to place shoes but it’s big enough to put in a small bag too. Please bring socks because it’s not stated on the website.

First activity of the playground is a huge net hung from the ceiling. Kids are to climb up and walk around above before sliding down. This is more for older kids as parents are not allowed inside and Sophie refused to go up by herself.

There’s a section for small trampoline which is big enough for a kid. However as Sophie is not very strong, she didn’t fancy that too.

This is one of Sophie’s favourite activity. Tapping on top of the tube, it produces different sounds.

This is the middle section of the playground. It consist of a huge long tubular slide spanning from the second floor down to the first floor. There will be a staff on top of the slide to lend you a hand while you sit on a mat.

This is Sophie’s most favourite activity . We had so much fun that we did this over and over again.

After sliding down, we get to climb up again. This was tough for a 2 years old. While she wanted me to carry her the first few times, Sophie did it just fine after a few tries.

This wooden playground is a claimed to be an award winning product. The entire structure is really sturdy and safe. Laid with an anti-slip mat, kids will not fall easily.

The small indoor playground even have a digital game for kids to play.

For kids who prefer a quiet game, there are wooden bricks too.

A theatre in an indoor playground? Fancy that? If parents feel tired from all the running around, you can bundle your kids off to the theatre for a short video. The shows are scheduled and they will make an announcement just before they start the show.

Emquatier

After the lunch and a nap for Sophie, we visited Rooftop Oasis at Emquatier

The entire place is not fenced up and it has pockets of water placed sporadically. It has many steps too. Therefore it’s not really very toddler friendly. Most of the time, I’ll have to hold Sophie’s hand when taking a stroll among the man-made garden.

Going back to Imaginia, I would definitely visit it again. As it’s pretty small scale, older kids may feel bored with it. However, for babies and toddler, it’s a perfect place for them.
