Idobata Coffee Stand

We found this quaint coffee place after we left the Hasedera Temple. This place is about 5 minutes walk from the temple.

Unless you are finding it deliberately on the google map, it could be overlooked easily

The entire coffee stand was converted from an old van located in front of his house. While we were waiting for our coffee in the late morning, the entire streets were pretty empty.

The Ojisan has a simple menu with only 6 items, all hand written neatly at the counter. Though the area was small, it was clean and tidy, with everything within one arm’s reach.

As for the coffee, though just 6 items, it covers most people’s palette from strong and roboust, to mild and even chocolately,

Kikyo Sushi

Sushi and ramen shops in Japan are usually small. But Kikyo Sushi is really tiny. They have a bar that can sit probably 6 diners and another 2 tables that can fit a total of 8.

I am a great fan of Chirashi Don (raw fish and seafood with sushi rice). Therefore, that is a must order for me. My hubby and the kids ordered sushi. The owner was very kind who doesnt mind that we ordered alot of tamago (egg) for the my younger one since he doesnt take raw fish at all.

The sushi and sashimi are all very fresh and tasty

As this place is very small, you might have to wait for a seat. Furthermore there is only 1 sushi chef, therefore you have to wait for quite a while for your order to be done.

Enoshima Koya

This reataurant has an intresting menu. It has a beautiful seaview. Located along the Sakai River, you can have your meals while listening to the sea breeze with an amazing view.

They serve interesting rice bowl, Don. You really have to visit this place to experince it’s unique dish. While Enoshima Koya does offer common Japanese dishes like Karaage and Yamagoyaki, their specialty is the raw fish rice bowl top with crunchy cucumbers and Ikura (Salmon Roe)

Wagyu don ohno Kamakura

All the wagyu lovers will definitely love Wagyu don ohno Kamakura. This restaurant serve very special, one – of – a – kind Waygu Don. The beef are carefully sliced and simmered gently in a broth 1 slice at a time. I think it requires a lot of patience from both the chef and the diners for their don to be done.

Wagyu don ohno Kamakura is located conveniently along Komachi – Dori Street where you can simply walk from the train station.
